Since we first launched our paper-free initiative with Planet Ark: 'PaperCutz 4 Planet Ark', more than 170,000 Colonial First State investors have asked themselves that question and chosen email. In doing so they’ve done the planet and themselves a favour.

The choice is yours! You can elect to receive which types of communications you would like emailed:

• annual reports
• confirmations
• promotional material
• iQ magazine.

All it takes is a few clicks to help lower carbon emissions, cut our dependence on trees and ease the strain on our precious water supplies.

Planet Ark benefits

We’re encouraging all our clients to make the change to paper-free investing. And for every client who converts to paper-free investing, Colonial First State donates $2 to the highly effective 'PaperCutz 4 Planet Ark' campaign, one of Planet Ark’s many campaigns aimed at helping people to reduce their impact on the planet - at home, at work and in the community.

Through the program, Colonial First State and their participating customers have saved an amount equivalent to 90 tonnes of paper.

This data was entered into the Environmental Defense Fund paper Calculator. By removing 90 tonnes of paper from circulation, Colonial First State have saved:

• 1,620 trees,
• the equivalent of 871,560 kWh of power,
• 303,570 kg of greenhouse gases (CO2e), and
• Over six million litres of water.

The estimated savings are the equivalent of:

• The power consumption of 59 Australian households for a year
• The emissions from 84 cars removed from our roads for a year
• The water used to fill 92 large domestic swimming pools
